Dear ACPO Members:
I would like to thank all of you who were able to attend our Annual General Meeting and panel discussion as well as those who were not able to attend but who submitted their proxies. It was great to see all of you at the meeting and I look forward to seeing you all again in the not-too-distant future. For those who were not able to attend, I look forward to meeting you all at other meetings throughout the upcoming year. I would also like to thank our panel—Nick Battram, Lili Cretu and Terry Obal—who provided much insight into the topic of Ethics in the Chemical Profession during our panel discussion.
As discussed at the AGM, this last year has been marked by a review of the ACPO as an organization as a whole. Specifically, our executive and council has started a review of the ACPO’s bylaws as well as our general practices. To facilitate this process, and to form strategy for the upcoming years ahead, we need to hear from our membership. I invite you all (and highly encourage you to attend) one of the Town Hall Meetings below to voice your opinions of the ACPO as well as to propose any changes you see fit from your own perspective. Note that if needed, more Town Hall Meetings may be scheduled throughout the next year.
The scheduled meetings are:
- Wednesday, July 13, 2022 6 – 7 PM EST (Registration closed)
- Saturday, August 20, 2022 12 – 1 PM EST (Registration closed)
- Tuesday, September 20, 2022 12- 1 PM EST (Register)
All meetings will be held virtually to allow members from across the province to attend. Login information will be sent to you in advance of the meeting. Please simply feel free to join at your convenience.
I encourage all our members to attend our Town Hall meetings and share with me and members of our executive and council your insights on the ACPO and your thoughts on moving forward.
Wishing you all the very best.
Dr. Eric Da Silva
President
