The ACPO extends its condolences to the family of Frederick J. Cooper, a long-time member and loyal supporter of the Association. Fred’s family is very sad to announce his passing on November 24, 2011, but grateful for his long and meaningful life. Born in Peterborough, January 28, 1922 and raised in Toronto where he met Mildred, his lifetime love and wife of 65 years. |

His successful business career spanned 38 years with Shell Canada and 4 years with Bate Chemical. His other loves included curling at Thornhill Country Club and summers spent at the cottage he built at Chandos Lake. Fred is survived by his wife Mildred Alice (nee Dawson), sister Elsie and daughters Marilyn Ramsden (Bruce), Carolyn Nicholson (Bob) and Wendy Maw (Jim). His grandchildren Steven, Holly, Jason, Crystal, Bradley, Kristy, Derek and Carly will dearly miss their Granddad. He is also survived by 6 great- grandchildren. Family and friends were the focal point of his life and he will be deeply missed. A gathering celebrated his life on November 28th.
